BEHIND THE LENS

Alright! This Award winning LA native preformed in the hit stage play One Night in Miami (2014 Ovation, Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle, LA Weekly, NAACP – Best Ensemble Award), played his idol Paul Robeson in The Magnificent Dunbar Hotel, Eslanda Unplugged, and The Emperor’s Last Performance (2011 NAACP Theatre Awards). Co-starred in the NBC series Studio 60 alongside Matthew Perry, Amanda Peet, and Timothy Busfield. NBC’s Criminal Minds, CW’s Privileged, and Comedy Central’s Key & Peele.

 

Illustrating charm, confidence, and a sense of humor in films like Chocolate City, Dead Cruelty, Final: The Rapture, Klovn 2, Blood Brothers, My Synthesized Life, Nerd Boy, and April’s Fools. 

 

Jah Shams has also developed a flair for writing and producing. Under his company B. Sun Productions, he starred in, executive produced, and co-wrote the feature film “Anger has a Secret,” which won the 7th Annual Martha’s Vineyard African-American Film Festival’s top award, Best Feature Film in 2009.
